To control and restrict Mississippi River seepage for critical flood protection.

Project Overview

APC’s scope of work consisted of sheet pile installation on the left descending bank of the Mississippi River in Avondale, LA to protect Jefferson Parish’s Westbank and its extensive industrial complex. The project consisted of asphalt saw cutting, the demolition of asphalt pavement, the installation of 1,200LF of 60’ NZ 19 steel sheet piles, excavation, installation of +/-340 CY compacted fill embankment, installation of asphaltic pavement, installation of geotextile fabric, and turf establishment.
