Hanger Building 3145

Mission critical design-build renovation to keep our nation’s warfighters operating in modernized facilities.
Experience
Project Objective

The Hangar Building 3145 was an obsolete facility that required a complete renovation and upgrades of all systems and finishes.

Project Overview

APC was the prime contractor on this Design-Build, renovation project which includes a 13,700 SF Hangar Bay as well as a 7,500 SF Administrative Space all within a secure facility adjacent to an active runway.

Renovations to the 13,700 SF hangar bay included the installation of a new AFFF High Expansion foam fire protection system, a new fire detection and alarm system which included new conduit, raceways, panels, and devices.  The hangar bay also received a new floor coating as well as a new hangar door system. The new AFFF system required additional space for foam storage vessels, pumps, and other associated equipment. To accommodate this additional equipment, APC expanded the building to add an AFFF equipment room.

The 7,500 SF administrative space included renovations to the office space, meeting space, restrooms, and shower rooms. Major upgrades included new flooring, ceiling grid and tile, walls, paint, hardware, plumbing fixtures, electrical and mechanical re-orientation to accommodate the new layout.
